Help Us Out
Like any parent, We want to give Matthew the best chance to reach his own potential and have a happy life. Research suggests
that sensory therapies can help. We have recently began private physiotherapy sessions with a specialist Neuro physiotherapist,
and are hoping to attend an intensive course over the next 6 months, as well as continuing a long term program after this.
We have also been attending sensory play sessions, travelling over an hour from home for these sessions.
Obviously, this isn't an ideal long term solution and we hope that by building a sensory room for Matthew we can have these sessions at home.
But as you can imagine, this specialised equipment is extremely expensive.
So we are launching a fundraiser on JustGiving through tree of hope called Matthews journey.
If you can donate, please do, every donation will be greatly appreciated!
Details of some of the equipment we hope to buy for Matthews room are below.
Matthew suffers from poor muscle tone, a support chair would be an invaluable aid to his development.
Supportive Chair
An essential parts of all sensory rooms, they create a safe play environment to learn to sit and roll over. And will also be neded for home physiotherapy visits.
Floor Mats
A great way to maximise the benefits of visual toys by reflecting light and allowing Matthew to see himself play.
Mirrors
These are large see through tubes which slowly change colour and steadily blow bubbles, creating a very stimulating and calming environment.
Bubble Tubes
Long brightly coloured leads, that are safe for children to play with. These don't heat up and can even be chewed on to allow Matthew to soothe himself.
Fibre Optics
A range of visual, tactile and audio toys to help Matthew use all his senses and enjoy play.
